I started asking myself questions several years ago. Does anyone else do this? Ask yourself a series of questions throughout the day?
What do you want to wear to day, Alicia? Are you going to work out or take a nap today? Nap? Is that the best thing, really? Should you really eat that? How does that outfit make you feel? Why is everyone so rude all the time?
My thoughts doth wander…
The bottom line is that I doubt myself A LOT! And I’m constantly re-evaluating and over thinking and dwelling.
And it’s just not freaking healthy, you know?
So, I came up with this ONE question to ask myself and it might not answer everything, but I’ve found it to be a really great starting point for finding a solution to just about anything.
Is this good for my soul?
That’s it. 6 words.
Yelling at your kids? Super angry at your spouse? Over committed? Being lazy? Complaining a lot…like A LOT?
Is this good for my soul?
Just one simple question to remind you that today is not all that matters, although, of course, it matters a great deal…but your soul matters most of all.
And maybe this is something you need to remember every day…
…your soul matters most of all.
You must learn this for yourself FIRST and then this realization will spill out onto other people and you will start to see the irrevocable and eternal value of each life.
For we are Fearfully and Wonderfully and Intentionally made.
